Home / Gerald Zeigenfuse Technology Scholarship

The scholarship, in memory of Avanceon founder and automation pioneer Gerald (Jerry) R. Zeigenfuse, was established to help support future Reading High engineers (Jerry was a member of the RHS class of 1950.) The $1000 annual financial need-based scholarship is awarded to a student who is pursing post-secondary education in the technology fields of engineering or IT.

2021 Recipient

Giovanni Martinez-Cruz, a graduating Reading High School senior, was selected as the third recipient of the Gerald Zeigenfuse Technology Scholarship. Giovanni will be attending Lehigh University in the fall to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. Giovanni met Avanceon President Matt Ruth in a recent visit to the office, where he was able to learn and ask questions pertaining to the engineering world. Congrats Giovanni!
 
 

2020 Recipient

Rogelio Flores, a graduating Reading High School senior, was selected as the second recipient of the Gerald Zeigenfuse Technology Scholarship. Rogelio will be attending college in the fall to pursue a degree in Engineering. We had the pleasure to hear all of Rogelio’s post-secondary plans via Zoom and wish him all the best!
 
 

2019 Recipient

Natalie Perez, a graduating Reading High School senior, was selected as the first recipient of the Gerald Zeigenfuse Technology Scholarship. Natalie will be attending York College in the fall to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering.
