Wake Up College Grad! What It Really Takes to Become an Engineer

Ah yes, graduation day.  A time to look upon everything that you’ve done in the past four years.  Or in my case seven, but we won’t go there.  Also a time to be proud of what you’ve  accomplished.  All of those complicated engineering courses,  the chemistry classes you dreaded having to go to and the calculus courses you no longer had the will power to attend.  All have prepared you for this moment.  You are now an engineer.

First Time in the Field

The first time in the field- it’s a very exciting moment for a new engineer. There are a million questions racing through your mind. Are all the travel arrangements taken care of? Do you have all of the documents needed for the project? Most importantly, is the project complete and ready to go to the field? If the answers are “yes,” then it’s time to go to the plant, implement the code and be done, right?
